Founded by Mark L. Prophet and Elizabeth Clare Prophet in Colorado Springs in 1970, Montessori International was a private school for children age three months through the twelfth grade. The curriculum was based on the educational principles set forth by Dr. Maria Montessori and the ascended masters, and its motto was “Learn to Love to Do Well and You Shall.” Its goal was to assist children in developing their highest potential, human and divine.

In later years, Montessori International incorporated techniques developed by Romalda Spalding, Glenn Doman, Marva Collins and Anna Ingham as well as methods advanced by its own teachers.
