Baden-Powell was a General in the British army and a former war hero. He was concerned about the youth of his country, who he recognized as being the key to the success or failure of civilization. Based upon his war experience and years of research in the methods of training youth in Sparta and Japan, in medieval England, and even among the American Indians and other native peoples, he wrote the Boy Scout manual.

Unquestionably inspired by the ascended masters, especially by Saint Germain, he had a keen insight into the ills of society and how to correct them through the youth.
