(बहुवचन-चेरुबीम) देवदूतों के एक वर्ग के सदस्य जो प्रेम की लौ के विस्तार और सुरक्षा के लिए, तलवार चलाने और रूबी रे एवं पवित्र आत्मा के फैसले के लिए समर्पित हैं। ईश्वर ने इन्हें (चेरुबीम को) गार्डन ऑफ़ ईडन के पूर्वी द्वार (ब्रह्मांडीय चेतना का द्वार) पर एक ज्वलंत तलवार के साथ रखा है। यह ज्वलंत तलवार जीवन के वृक्ष का मार्ग बनाये रखने के लिए किसी भी दिशा में मुड़ सकती है।

ईश्वर ने मूसा को आर्क ऑफ़ कोवेनेंट की मर्सी सीट के इन सच्चे देवदूत अभिभावकों को दर्शाने के लिए सोने के चेरुब बनाने का निर्देश दिया था।^[1] परम्परा के अनुसार, भगवान चेरूबों के बीच रहते थे और इसी मर्सी सीट से मूसा से बात करते थे - ईश्वरीय स्वरुप यहीं उपस्थिति रहता है। ईश्वर का कानून, पत्थर की पट्टियों पर उकेरा गया और फिर इन पट्टियों को सन्दूक में रख एक जगह से दूसरी जगह ले जाया गया था।

David describes the LORD riding upon a cherub, flying upon the wings of the wind.^[2] Ezekiel portrays the cherubim as four-winged, four-faced creatures accompanied by whirling wheels.^[3] The cherub may be identified with the winged karibu, “intercessor” in Mesopotamian texts, portrayed as a sphinx, griffin, or winged human creature. Throughout cosmos, the wise and strong cherubim are found in manifold aspects of service to God and his offspring.

The cherubim guard the flame of the ark of the covenant between God and man, focused in the Great Central Sun. They keep the way of the Tree of Life, both in the City Foursquare and in every son and daughter of God. “And they rest not day and night, saying, Holy, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty, which was, and is, and is to come.”^[4]
