Beholding the defection of the race, cosmic councils voted to dissolve the planet whose people had forsaken their God; and this would have been its fate had Sanat Kumara not interceded, offering to exile himself from Hesperus (Venus) in order to keep the flame on behalf of mankind and hold the balance of the Light for Terra until such time as mankind should return to the pure and undefiled religion of their ancient forebears.
