Sanctity of life
As we observe the history of the twentieth century, we can see that with the advent of rock music and the lowering of the sacred energies of man and woman, the logical sequence was a sexual revolution and a greater promiscuity. Thus we see the free-love generation of the 1960s largely abandoning the traditional concepts of marriage and family. Living together became fashionable. Premarital and teenage sex became widespread. Birth control became a necessity. And once the new morality was established, it was a relatively small step from birth control to population control and the social acceptability of abortion.
Where this has led us today is that many, many souls who are a part of Aquarius, who should be here—new souls of Light prepared to take their place and help bring in the New Age—are not in embodiment. They have been denied entrance into the portals of birth because their parents considered that it was an untimely situation. Abortion has become a means of birth control.
The divine plan of the soul
The abortion of a soul is the abortion of the potential of that soul to become God. It is the abortion of her destiny and her divine plan, and because our Father-Mother God chooses the special moment in history when each soul is to return to earth to take part in the divine plan of the decades and the centuries, it is the abortion of an assignment from God.
When we abort life in the womb, we are aborting the opportunity of a soul whose time has come to be on earth at that precise astrological moment. The timetables of the conception and birth of every child are directed by Almighty God, the Archangels and Cosmic Beings of Light and the specific Ascended Masters who are the sponsors of that soul—the Godparents, if you will. These timetables are part of God’s grand design of life.
Understanding this, you can see how wondrously you were made, how God cared for you personally, how your Father-Mother ordained your conception, your earthly parents, your life, your purpose, your reason for being, and then carefully oversaw your development in the womb. Thus no one is an unwanted child, for even though parents may think they don’t want to bear a child, your God-parents want you and they have ordained your birth.
Not one birth has ever taken place upon this planet that was not sanctioned by Almighty God and the Holy Spirit. No matter how hard you may try to conceive a child, unless it is the will of God and the timing of God, that child will not be conceived. The moment of conception is the moment that the Holy Spirit ordains life.
Even before a child is conceived, the divine plan of the soul has been worked out in intricate detail. The grand design of God is so exact that at the moment of conception, the genes in each tiny embryo are already suited to the specific soul who will grow and develop in that womb.
Karmic assignments
The Karmic Board, together with the Holy Christ Self of the soul, determines before conception takes place when, where and under what circumstances the soul will embody. In order to give the soul the best opportunity to work out her karma, these circumstances have been expertly tailored to the soul’s needs.
The law of karma is integral to life on earth, and karma implies reincarnation even as reincarnation implies karma. The karma that each of us carries contains positive and negative momentums—momentums we have set in motion by our free will—our actions, words, deeds, thoughts and feelings.
We also have momentums of inaction and sins of omission—not speaking out or taking action when we should but simply sitting back and being an observer of life. Our lives are the harvest of all we have ever sown, five minutes ago, yesterday and ten thousand years ago.
As God has ordained the cycles and Laws of his universe, it works out that many of us do not reap in a given lifetime what we have sown in that life. We don’t know whether it will take a thousand or twelve thousand years for those actions to come full circle and demand that we make them right. But God knows, and his Law is unerring, unfailing and always just.
Therefore, if we do the tasks of the day by performing services and fulfilling our responsibilities—doing all we can to help others as well as offering our own gifts to society—we are sowing good karma as well as balancing bad karma.
Yet in the exercise of our free will, we have ordained what must come next in our life, whether blessing or bane, according to how we have sown. As Paul wrote to the Galatians, God’s law of karma cannot be scorned or evaded, for “whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.”[1]
Because we wind up at the conclusion of a lifetime with many debts and the desire to pay them, God in his mercy gives us the opportunity to return in a new life to make things right. This is a far better solution than the one orthodox Christianity offers by sending us to either heaven or hell, for most of us are ready for neither and desire to finish up the LORD’s business here on earth.
The parents and the incoming soul
Before conception, all parents, whether they are aware of it or not in their outer consciousness, have agreed at inner levels to receive the incoming soul. If in some cases they have not agreed, they have understood at inner levels that it is their karma to do so. Sometimes parents do not agree to sponsor the child because they are unwilling to submit to the Law of God.
Often this is because our teachers, pastors, ministers and rabbis lack the great knowledge of these cycles of life and do not teach that if parents refuse the calling to bear life now, they will, in a sense, be aborting their own life plan and its cycles. By resisting that assignment, they place themselves in a more difficult karma-making circumstance, because sometime, somewhere, they will yet have to bear that child. And it is very difficult to return to the place where the same two individuals are together once again and the same soul will be available and blessed by God to take embodiment through them.
Sometimes parents who have already had children and have balanced the karma that they needed to balance through childbearing may be chosen by God to bring forth children with whom they have no negative karma. These may be highly gifted children, who, by bringing their past attainment back with them, may make a great contribution to society.
Every child conceived has a divine plan and a divine design—even if some in our society claim that the child is unwanted or handicapped and should therefore not be born into this world. The renowned pediatric surgeon and former U.S. Surgeon General Dr. C. Everett Koop says, “It has been my constant experience that disability and unhappiness do not necessarily go together. Some of the most unhappy children whom I have known have all of their physical and mental faculties, and on the other hand some of the happiest youngsters have borne burdens which I myself would find very difficult to bear.”
Who are we to say that a life is not worthwhile? Only the soul herself can say. Helen Keller proved that life is worth living and fighting for. How can we ever forget the remarkable determination and daring of this deaf, dumb and blind girl who overcame the utter darkness of her childhood to become an exceptional author, educator and lecturer?
People who are born into abject poverty and the worst of circumstances often rise to become great leaders and shapers of the destinies of nations. Look at Abraham Lincoln—born to uneducated parents and raised in a log cabin in the backwoods of Kentucky. Frederick Douglas, the famous abolitionist leader, was born and raised as an African-American slave. The American inventor and technological genius Thomas Edison attended school for only three months of his life and was expelled by his schoolmaster as retarded.
An intangible “something” exists that is higher than the body and higher than circumstance; it is the drive of the soul and the spirit that gives character and impetus to an individual. We also have to remember that many people have serious karma, for they may have committed violent crimes in the past. Such individuals are required by karmic law to embody in circumstances that are less than ideal, because the purpose of karma is never to punish but to help us learn from our past mistakes.
The only way we learn from past mistakes is to be in a similar circumstance where what is now done to us is what we previously did to life. The hard knocks of life are sometimes what our souls need, for the family and environment we are born into and the friends, foes and challenges we meet along life’s way are all a part of the wondrous and intricate blueprint from the mind of God.
The consequences of abortion
In the twenty-five years following the 1973 Supreme Court decision of Roe v. Wade legalizing abortion, over 36 million children were aborted in the United States. These “missing persons” will not take their place as adults in the world scheme, nor will their children be in place for the new millennium.
When we add to that the billion to a billion and a half children aborted worldwide since 1973, the absence of these lifestreams in embodiment has compromised the divine plan for earth. The consequences of this are serious for all of us: over one billion individuals are unable to offer what God intended them to contribute to life on earth, starting in the decades of the seventies.
They did not grow up and marry and give life to other souls who were intended to learn from them and to be sponsored by them as their parents and teachers. For God does not only think of you when you are born, he is already thinking when you are yet in the womb of whose great-great-grandmother and great-great-grandfather you are going to be.
The plan of the mind of God is vast—a cosmic computer that none of us can even begin to comprehend. By playing God in aborting life, we are interfering with the evolutionary chain of life begetting life—life depending on life, helpless life depending upon those who are strong.
And although we are concerned about the ecology of the planet,[2] we should also be concerned about the ecology of souls on the planet. Souls who are meant to live together, evolve together and experience life together have a certain chemistry and a collective unconscious, and they respond together to the forward movements of their time.
Souls who should be accelerating in the winds of Aquarius and the violet flame of the Holy Spirit and who should be ushering in the Aquarian age are simply not here. Neither are those who should be in leadership roles in education and in the war on crime and drugs. They are waiting in the wings when they should be star players on the stage of life. They are not where they are supposed to be: leading America and the world to the pinnacle of a Golden Age in the twenty-first century.
We are reaping the karma for abortion in every area of life, and it is breeding a grossness, an ingratitude for that cry of the newborn child that is the most wonderful sound in the whole wide world. That child who cries out in the womb for life and opportunity represents every individual’s soul. If you tune out your sensitivity to the child unborn, you cannot keep it open to the soul.
People have turned off their sensitivity to the needs of the criminal, the victim, the unborn child. There is a grossness and a hardness of heart. What you have to realize is that at any time you abort a child, that soul and that body and the soul in the body experience the most excruciating pain. This is the holocaust of the twentieth century.
Saint Germain has spoken of the importance of ending abortion:
Turning around this one thing, beloved, can be a staying action on all other predictions that I have given you concerning nuclear war and earth changes. The stopping of the slaying of the innocents—this is the key to the reprieve and the key to the mercy out of the heart of Mother Mary as she does intercede for the nations before the throne of grace.[3]
The “right” to abortion
Many people support a woman’s “right” to have an abortion based on the principle that a woman has free will and the right to control her own body. They may uphold this right even though they wouldn’t choose abortion themselves. They say a woman should be able to choose whether or not to have a child.
We all agree. But we also must state that she should make her choice before conception, not after. We have access to many methods of birth control. Abortion is not one of them.
The apostle Paul said it clearly: “Know ye not that ye are the temple of God?”[4]
He also said:
Know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s.[5]
The point Paul makes that we must underscore here is “ye are not your own.” It is true that we are not our own, for we are God’s, and our souls are “bought with a price” by the living Saviour Jesus Christ. This means that our bodies are not our own, nor are our souls.
God has ordained us to bring forth souls made in his image and likeness; therefore the freedom to choose not to bring forth the soul that is conceived and already attached to the womb from the moment of conception does not belong to us. It cannot, because we are not God; we are sons and daughters of God and we are obedient to his Law. He has ordained us to be co-creators with him, not above him. We cannot play God with the soul aborning in our womb.
Alternatives to abortion
If you are pregnant and it is truly impossible for you to care for this soul at the present time, adoption is a viable alternative to abortion. There are many families who are more than happy to give a loving home to your baby.
We must educate people to desire to mother life and to have life, and we want to educate people against the entire social system that leads to abortion. The necessity for an abortion is a final act that has been preceded by everything that is degenerating in our society and everything that is irresponsible. At the point when somebody needs an abortion, it’s too late.
We must educate society all the way back from the beginning in the correct use of the sacred fire, in the correct use of music, in noncontamination with drugs, in the sacredness of marriage, in the holiness of the individual to embody God, and how to channel those energies so that people don’t have to justify a morality that ends in an unwanted pregnancy.
The Goddess of Liberty has stated the position of the Karmic Board that parents “ought not to bring forth more children than you are able to care for and for whom you may adequately express your love.”[6] Nevertheless, abortion as a means to birth control is deemed a violation of the sacred flame of Life which every Keeper of the Flame has vowed to keep. Therefore, other means to predetermining the family circle must be intelligently studied and applied, for when life, sacred life, is at stake, one does not act haphazardly as though the bearing and rearing of children were a matter to be left to the fates or the gods.
Forgiveness for abortion
Mother Mary speaks of the opportunity of the individual to balance the karma of abortion:
Pray for those whose hardness of heart, passed on from generation to generation, has allowed them to silence the heartbeat and the cry of the child within. This child within is part of mother, part of father, part of life: life that is sacred, life that is God.
I am not old-fashioned, I am a realist. And I am telling you of the realities of the karma of abortion.
If abortion has entered your life, I say, call upon the violet flame for the healing of the soul in pain for its mission cut off. Call on the law of forgiveness for yourself. Do not condemn yourself, for I, Mary, do not condemn you, but I urge you to seek early the opportunity of serving life and caring for children that you might learn to love your own inner child and balance the karma of abortion.
And pray that in due course [if you are of childbearing age] you might have a family and bring in the soul or souls whom you aborted through ignorance in an hour when you were perhaps distraught, misled, faced with choices without being given the facts about the life that was aborning in your womb—or perhaps you knew and denied what you knew.[7]
If you are a women who has had an abortion or a man who has encouraged a woman to have an abortion, whether or not you knew about the sin of abortion at the time, it is not going to prevent your ascension in this lifetime if you give yourself to God in a service that can balance that karma. Such service would include helping children in some way, working with children, praying and decreeing for the youth or bearing a child if it is God’s will.
