श्वेत महासंघ (Great White Brotherhood) द्वारा निर्मित एक पद जो समस्त मानव जाति में जीवन की ज्योति को पोषित करने के लिए, माँ के सामान मानवजाति का पोषण करने के लिए निर्धारित किया गया है। इस पद पर क्रमिक रूप से विभिन्न अनवतीर्ण (unascended) स्त्री भक्तों को दिया जाता है।

जीवन ज्योति की माँ (Mother of the Flame) का पद विश्व की माता (World Mother) के प्रति समर्पित महिला भक्तों में से चुना जाता है। इसका पदभार आजीवन होता है, सिर्फ विफलता या अक्षमता की स्थितियों में इस पद से किसी को हटाया जा सकता है।

१९६१ में क्लारा लुईस कीनिंजर (Clara Louise Kieninger) को संत जरमेन (Saint Germain) द्वारा कीपर्स ऑफ द फ्लेम फ्रेटरनिटी (Keepers of the Flame Fraternity) की प्रथम जीवन ज्योति की माँ (first Mother of the Flame) के रूप में नामित किया गया था।

९ अप्रैल १९६६ को यह दायित्व (mantle) संदेशवाहक (Messenger) एलिजाबेथ क्लेयर प्रोफेट (Elizabeth Clare Prophet) को सौंप दिया गया।

उस समय क्लारा लुईस कीनिंजर 'जीवन ज्योति की माँ' (Mother of the Flame) की राजप्रतिनिधि (Regent) बनी। उन्होंने २५ अक्टूबर, १९७० को बर्कले, कैलिफोर्निया (Berkeley, California) में अपना शरीर छोड़ा (ascension) और उसी स्तर से इस पद को संभालना जारी रखा।
